Dr. Jessica Peterson

Veterinarian

Dr. Peterson, from Falmouth, grew up surrounded by pets and was a dedicated equestrian. She earned her Animal Science degree with a pre-vet focus from UMass Amherst, where she worked with livestock and led the student-run goat herd. After working as a veterinary nurse, she earned her DVM from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, then returned to New England to join Oceanside as an Associate Veterinarian. She enjoys gardening, the beach, birding, and time with her husband, two dogs, and cat.

Dr. Peterson grew up in Falmouth and has always had a love for animals. As a child she had many pets (guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, parakeets, finches, fish, dogs, cats), and was a dedicated equestrian. She leaned into her passion for animals at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she majored in Animal Science, worked in the Livestock barn with sheep and goats, and ultimately became president of the student-run goat herd. Her interest in science and medicine was founded in class at UMass, and she graduated with a Pre-Veterinary focus to her Animal Science degree. After graduation, she worked in a small animal emergency and referral hospital as a veterinary nurse before moving to Glendale, AZ to attend Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, Dr. Peterson moved back to New England and joined Oceanside as an Associate Veterinarian.

When not at work, Dr. Peterson can be found in her garden, at the beach, out birding, or at home with her husband and their two dogs (Suki the Great Dane and Balto the Husky), and their beloved kitty, Oreo.
