Dr. Peterson grew up in Falmouth and has always had a love for animals. As a child she had many pets (guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, parakeets, finches, fish, dogs, cats), and was a dedicated equestrian. She leaned into her passion for animals at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she majored in Animal Science, worked in the Livestock barn with sheep and goats, and ultimately became president of the student-run goat herd. Her interest in science and medicine was founded in class at UMass, and she graduated with a Pre-Veterinary focus to her Animal Science degree. After graduation, she worked in a small animal emergency and referral hospital as a veterinary nurse before moving to Glendale, AZ to attend Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, Dr. Peterson moved back to New England and joined Oceanside as an Associate Veterinarian.
When not at work, Dr. Peterson can be found in her garden, at the beach, out birding, or at home with her husband and their two dogs (Suki the Great Dane and Balto the Husky), and their beloved kitty, Oreo.
